Congratulations to Santa Fe Catholic's Class of 2017 Valedictorian, Jason Lucus Sirera, and Connor Masato Lovely, Salutatorian!  It's been 11 years since SFC has had a male valedictorian and salutatorian. Well done, Gentlemen!

St. Francis of Assisi Award      
This honor is awarded to two members of the graduating class (one male/one female) who wrote an exemplary essay about the qualities of St. Francis' gentle spirit, selflessness and simple lifestyle. The essay speaks about the Catholic education they received at Santa Fe, and how their time with us has helped to instill the same joyful spirit of St. Francis while loving all of God's creation. This year's winners are Rebecca Breyer & Daniel Arevalo! Booster Association Scholarship Recipient

For the first time, the Santa Fe Catholic Booster Association has established a $1500 scholarship for a graduating senior athlete who has attended SFC and has been involved in SFC athletics for at least three years, with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Applicants submitted a typed essay, 500 words minimum, on: HOW HAS BEING AN SFC ATHLETE MADE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR LIFE?

Florida Polytechnic University Summer Opportunity for Rising Juniors and Seniors
   
MERIT (Medical Engineering, Robotics, & Innovation for Tomorrow) is a joint effort between Florida Polytechnic University, All Saints' Academy, Lakeland Regional Health Systems, Winter Haven Hospital, and other exciting industry partners. The program, open to high school students 16 or older, promotes student engagement in medical engineering, robotics, research, and scientific presentation in a variety of topics that prepare students for the richness of careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) areas. Students gain hands-on experiences, with industry experts and game-changers, and take part in a research project of their choice.
 
Past Topics:
Post-secondary education in medical engineering and robotics; design and rapid prototyping with the 3-D printer; renewable energy and sustainability; Arduino programming; nanotechnology; health informatics; neuroimaging; chemotherapy; radiation therapy; microsurgery; robotic surgery.
 
Fee:
$400 for 8 sessions over 4 weeks, materials, and a graduation ceremony; checks payable to Florida Polytechnic University.
 
Days and Times:
Mondays and Thursdays in June from 5pm-8pm
Additional days may be added, based on offsite industry partners' availability.

Mandatory Forms Needed to Participate in Sports
All students participating in sports for the 2017-18 school year MUST have a sports physical dated after June 1, 2017. Print the following highlighted links ( EL2 and EL3) and make sure you take the EL2 with you and have it signed by the doctor. Both completed forms must be turned in to the front office prior to participating in practice.

Our regular registration rate is $400 per student and is non-refundable. 
Registration fee can be paid by mailing in a check or by contacting the office with a credit card number.

All supporting documentation, along with the application, must be submitted by May 31, 2017, 11:59pm. All Applications submitted after this date will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis if funding is available. To apply, click on the following link: www.stepupforstudents.org

Fall 2017 Mission Trip

Spring Break Europe Trip 2018
We are pleased to announce an 11 day trip to France and Switzerland for next year's spring break. The itinerary includes: Paris, Versailles, Chartres, the Loire Valley, St. Malo, Normandy (Mont-St-Michel, D-Day beaches and museum), Rouen, Seine River cruise, Bern, Lucerne, and Mt. Pilatus. The dates are March 22-April 1, 2018. Included in the price: roundtrip airfare, hotels, breakfast and dinner, services of a tour director, site visits, tips for the tour director and driver.
 
The cost is $3512. This price is good until June 1. A $50 deposit will lock in this price. Various payment plans are available.
