Words From Sandy and Nick

To say it has been an interesting summer would be a dramatic understatement. It has definitely been challenging, but we're still here and going strong.

There has been a lot of development on all fronts amidst the pandemic going on, and we are happy to say we are very proud of our team, and the effort everyone has put in.

A wise man once said, "I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end." That's how Hawkins Safety Works.

We wish everyone an enjoyable autumn and we hope you all stay safe and healthy.

News From The Lab!
We are proud to say the lab has received a lot of positive feedback since our soft opening amidst the pandemic. The pickup and delivery service seems to be very beneficial for our customers. Not only does it cut out the hassle and cost of shipping large heavy items, but it also helps maintain integrity and chain of custody to who is handling the items.

We are currently offering Dielectric Tests and Visual Inspections on ALL CLASSES of GLOVES, SLEEVES, and BLANKETS (both 24" and 36"). We can also clean and visually inspect line hose.

If you think Hawkins Test Lab services might be beneficial to your company or a company you know, we would love to connect and invite you in for a tour to see how the operation works.

You can visit our lab page here and sign up or view pricing

We understand the safety industry is constantly being updated and iterated on, and we make it a point to stay current with OSHA and ASTM standards.

Happy Fall!

With one of the hotest summers on record behind us, I for one get a bit re-newed in the fall season. The brilliant, sunny day skies and cooler temperatures paving the way to crisp, clear starry sky evenings. Definitely my favorite!

A good time to take care of yourself and others.....September is National Suicide Prevention and Awareness month. This is not a happy subject, but it's a very real subject. It's worth taking the time to educate oneself....it could save a life. https://suicidepreventionlifeline.org/promote-national-suicide-prevention-month/

We truly appreciate your continued support of small businesses. We wouldn't be here without you. THANK YOU!

In case you didn't read or hear elsewhere.....THE RUBBER GOODS TEST LAB IS OPEN!!!
Time to git yur stuff in here!

Be well. Have a safe 4th Qtr!
~Vicki

Back to the Basics
In the year 1895, George Hudson proposed the idea of Daylight Savings. This idea proposed the clocks be set one hour ahead during warmer months to have darkness fall later each day and reverted back one hour in the colder months to return to standard time.

This idea would allow for the typical work day to start earlier in the day to achieve more daylight for after work hours.

Daylight savings is only utilized in latitudes further from the tropics, as the variances in daylight at the equator are not as noticeable throughout the year. The closer you get to the poles, the more dramatic the effect is.

Don't forget, clocks "Fall Back" this Autumn and we get a 25 hour day this November.

Stay Vigilant this Autumn,

-Eric
