Like many districts across the state, Delaware City Schools continues to experience the effects of an ongoing bus driver shortage. While we’re typically able to cover all routes, absences or extra trips for after-school activities can sometimes cause delays.

When routes need to be combined, some buses may run 15–20 minutes late. Families can stay informed by checking the “Check My Bus” link on our website for updates on any routes running more than 10 minutes behind (please select the appropriate AM/PM route for your student).

We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding as our transportation team works hard each day to ensure students arrive safely. If you or someone you know is interested in joining our transportation staff, please visit our website for more information.

JANUARY STUDENTS OF THE MONTH

JUNIORS TAKE SAT

MARCH 10TH

Freshman, Sophomores & Seniors will have a remote learning day.

In order to provide a quiet testing space for our Juniors to take the state Digital SAT and to allow all staff members to help us monitor the testing site, we are providing remote learning to all other students (9th, 10th and 12th graders) on Tuesday, March 10th. All Juniors, including DACC full-day Juniors, will be the only students in the building on that Tuesday along with any students taking the Accuplacer for Marion Technical College. (Those students will be notified if they are testing.) Our teachers will be providing assignments for our other students to work on at home that day.

Transportation for Juniors and DACC AM & Full Day students only will be provided at the regular morning times. Buses will take Juniors home around 11:30am to their closest elementary school. Lunch will be provided by our wonderful food service staff.  There will be bus service available for students requiring extended time on the tests at 2:30pm.

Juniors, don’t forget the following information about the SAT:

  • You will be able to find your testing location by checking your email or seeing the room assignments posted outside the Counseling Office, 2000 Restrooms or 2100 Restrooms.
  • Be in your assigned testing location by 7:25 AM.
  • Bring a CHARGED school Chromebook, if already checked out. Chromebooks will be available for those that do not have them.
  • Bring a snack & water
  • Bring your graphing calculator
  • Bring your school ID or driver’s license
  • Bring Two #2 Pencils
  • Dress in layers in case rooms are too hot or too cold for you
  • Remember to leave cell phones and smart watches turned off in your backpacks
  • Results will be available in your CollegeBoard account on April 2nd.

Best of Luck to you on the SAT!
