SENIOR PARENT COLLEGE INFORMATION NIGHT

Ms. Pollard, our College & Career Counselor, will be holding a Senior Parent College Information Night on Thursday, September 25 at 6 PM in the Hayes Library.

Families who are not able to attend can view the presentation HERE. Hope to see you there!

Hayes High School has a number of college admissions representatives coming to Hayes to speak with interested students during House on Mondays and Academic Options on Fridays. College representatives are signing up daily. A full listing can be found on this calendar.

How do students sign up? They can do so in SchooLinks and login with Clever. Students will then click on Engage, Events, then unregistered events. Students can click on the college representative they want to see and register for the visit.

Once students have signed up, they will get an email reminder the day before and will be excused from House/Academic Options or allowed to enter the building if they have opted out of House/Academic Options. They will report to the Counseling Office to meet with the college rep.

Are you interested in taking the Digital PSAT/NMSQT at Hayes, beginning on

October 21st, 2025?

If so, please register online here PSAT Fall 2025.

The cost is $18 and will be added to your student school fees. These fees must be paid before the exam. You will be able to pay online with a credit card or cash/check in our office. Once you register, we will send more information about payment options.

Juniors are strongly encouraged to take the test as you will have the opportunity to take the SAT in the spring here at Hayes! Sophomores may also choose to take the test, provided tests are still available. More information about the PSAT can be found at https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/psat-nmsqt-psat-10

More information is available through these links and attached to this email. Practice tests are available through BlueBook after students create a CollegeBoard account.

The Back to School Forms will be closing soon! If you have not yet completed back to school forms for your student(s), please do so asap!

Remember, there are several exciting field trips in the works for Hayes students this year. Students will not be permitted to attend field trips if their back-to-school forms are not completed. If you haven't completed your forms, please log in asap to your PowerSchool Parent Portal (not the student's account)

Remember documentation needs to be provided for any changes to address and custody in order for those forms to be approved. See BTS Form Instruction Sheet HERE

Delaware City Schools and the Delaware community are experiencing an uptick in cases of Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD). We are working closely with the Delaware Health Department to monitor cases within the schools. HFMD is a common illness caused by a virus and is typically mild. Although it is more common in younger children, teens and adults can be affected. The Nationwide Children’s Hospital’s Fact Sheet provides additional information that may be useful to your family.

The schools will continue to reinforce hand washing, covering mouths when coughing or sneezing, and provide frequent cleaning to the surface areas shared by our students. We appreciate your partnership as we strive to keep a healthy learning environment for all students.
