Minet Junior
See new Minet Schools plan - 20 May

Minet Nursery & Infant School and Minet Junior School in Avondale Drive have both been approved for redevelopment as part of the Department for Education’s Priority School Building Programme. A design team has been appointed to prepare a scheme and they are keen to engage with the local community. There will be a public consultation event on Monday 20 May between 3pm and 7:30pm at the Junior School. All are welcome to attend. Click here for more information

Locally I have been helping the Hillingdon Dementia Action Alliance with a survey of local shops on how well-prepared they are for serving customers with dementia. To see the sort of questions they are asked click here .
Euro elections
European Parliament elections 23 May

The European Parliamentary elections will be taking place on Thursday 23 May . If, like me, you were taught that you have a civic duty to vote you will be able to go along to your local polling station any time between 7am and 10pm To find out more please click here.
Hayes FM Fun Day
Hayes FM Fun Day - Monday 27 May

There is another Bank Holiday coming up on Monday 27 May and volunteers at Hayes FM are promising a day of fun, food, music and entertainment between 12 noon and 5pm at Hayes Cricket Club Wood End Green Road. The post code is UB3 2RJ
Botwell summer fete
Botwell Summer Fete - Saturday 8 June

Talking of fun events a date for your diary is the annual Botwell Parish Summer Fete on Saturday 8 June between 11am and 3pm on the green between Botwell House School and the Catholic Church in Botwell Lane. There will be a wide range of stalls and other attractions plus a grand raffle with a top prize of £1500.
Hayes Town Cup
Hayes Town Cup fixed for 16 June

Applications are now open for local football teams to take part in the annual Hayes Town Cup. This will take place on Sunday 16 June and will be played six-a-side with players of 16 years of age and above. To enter a team send an email to George Bergin.
Hayes Bowls Club
Bowls Club seeks new members

Continuing with the sporting theme the Hayes Bowls Club at Botwell Green is keen to welcome new members. The photo shows that the bowling green is in superb condition and waiting for new bowlers to try their hand. Phone 020 8848 9011 for more information or send an email .
Blyth Road
Demolition proceeds at Blyth Road site

The picture shows that contractors working for Bellway Homes have now demolished the former factory premises at 30 to 32 Blyth Road for the development they are planning for 118 new flats. Click here for details of the latest planning application

December 2020 confirmed for new station

Transport for London have confirmed that Network Rail now anticipate the full completion of the western Crossrail stations by the end of 2020.
 
They also point out that a significant amount of railway work has already been delivered at Hayes & Harlington to enable new GWR and TfL Rail trains to run. The stations now have the Driver Only Operation CCTV system, longer platforms and upgraded customer information systems
