About 12 or so years ago I was sitting in my family room and it was a January afternoon. It had been a very cold week that week and on this day it was sunny outside but when I looked out of the window in front of me, there was water dripping down the window and it looked like it was just raining in that one spot. Boy do I wish that was the case!

So what happened was a pipe had burst in the attic, water everywhere, the ceiling ended up caving in and a big huge mess erupted. It was awful. The pipe in the attic froze and therefore burst. Not fun at all. So...if you are unsure about what all you can do to winterize your home, it's not too late, and since it is winter time and Georgia weather can be so unpredictable with warm weather then jumping to freezing and sometimes bitter cold temps, it's better to be prepared than to not.
