It looks like my son Alec got his cooking genes from me I'm a terrible cook.) Just kidding, but last night when he was cooking steaks for us and we have a new oven, the kitchen got smokey, the pan caught on fire and the house smoked up. Did our smoke detectors go off? No! Everything is fine, smoke got cleared out and I guess it's been a while since we changed them out, that's first on our list of what to get. Steaks were great though!
10yrs is the life span of a smoke detector. If you have a combo smoke/carbon monoxide detector, then it needs to be replaced every 5-7yrs. Smoke is scary, fire is scary, here's more info on what to look for so you'll know it's time to replace your smoke detectors so you can stay safe.
