On 2 different social media groups I asked a couple of questions: Do you take baths or showers and if you take baths, how often? A few of the answers were comical... like David K, James Y and Drew D saying they use a garden hose to get clean, Casey C takes shaths, Bradley W jumps in the pool after working out then showers and Ruth P saw Randy G taking a bath at the lake.
So...1 Facebook group (men and women) had 549 voting for showers and 246 voting for baths. Most answers said both, so subtracting 549-246=303 voted for showers only.
Another Facebook group (all women) had 407 voting for showers and 291 voting for baths. Again, most answers said both, so subtracting 407-291=116 voted for showers only.
Yes, there are quite a few people who said they would not buy a home that did not have a tub in the master bath, but the majority would, according to what was calculated. As Realtors we do not see homes taking longer to sell because the master is lacking a tub. Could be the market that we are in (seller's market) with more buyers than homes? Possibly, but as for these answers this is what the stats are showing in our area for the Summer of 2021.
There's definitely more to see when shopping for homes, from the master bath renovated completely by taking out the tub and making the shower larger, to having both a bigger and deeper tub/shower combo like the picture above. In fact, we will be doing this in our master bathroom as well and I can't wait! If you're in the market to shop for homes or want recommendations for remodeling your bathroom we can certainly help you.
