For those of you that plan on selling your home now and closing happens before January 1st, here's some good news for you:
At the end of the year the seller gets a refund on taxes as opposed to the other way around.
When you sell a house, the seller has to give the buyer the taxes form January 1st until the day of close. Once taxes are already paid, typically in November, the buyer has to pay the seller for the rest of the year. Read more about this in this article here:
