The story of Esther appears to be a series of coincidences that deliver the Jews from certain death. However, God selected Esther for a particular purpose at a particular time in the history of His chosen people.
These resources will help you discover the power of God's providence in the midst of your personal pain, fear, gain, loss, and love. You'll see that God has a purpose for your life, and He uses every action and event that occurs in it to make that purpose a reality.

Bible Life Classes - we need your help this summer!

This summer, on Wednesday nights, in HHCM, we will learn more about the parables of Jesus.  We would love to have your Bible Life Class help us with our kids.  Your class will help kids listen during the lesson, lead discussions during small group time, provide a snack for everyone, and help with games/crafts.
You can sign up for whichever date is open and works best for your class.

Email  ethan@hayshills.com with any questions.

Please note - snacks must be *nut free*.  They can be as simple as popsicles or as complex as your imagination will take you.

Student Ministry
by Greg Burney

Hard to believe that we are already on the cusp of another school year in the books! We have a very exciting spring and summer ahead! Please keep our student and adult leaders in your prayers as we work to help students develop deep and genuine relationships with Jesus. Pray for their families as we seek to partner with parents to help young people understand their need for the love and mercy of Jesus.
This coming Sunday we have our final parent equipping event of the school year. We will meet at 4:30 in the high school room to dig into a very important question. "Is technology ruining my child?". We hope to take an in depth look at the realities of the technology driven culture we live in and how the Bible can steer us towards wisdom in how we handle that reality when it comes to raising our children.
May 5th the annual Backyard BBQ will take place. This is a change from previous years as we are moving this event from November to the spring. We will have the BBQ competition again this year as well as the fun backyard style games and activities. Our goal is to provide a fun and meaningful time of fellowship for our church. All the proceeds of this event support the students of Hays Hills. The suggestion donation for attendance is $15 per person or $60 max for a family of more than 4.
Summer camp is only about 2 months away! We already have 30 students signed up to attend camp and we are expecting many more! Camp is June 27-July 2 and is $229 per student. It takes a $50 deposit to reserve your student's spot. You can do so at tinyurl.com/hhsmbattlecry19.

CLC News
by Mitzi Hudgins

We have been so busy in our classrooms at the Christian Learning Center!  Last week we focused on Easter and spring, and we enjoyed a visit from Pastor Ethan in chapel!

The children also enjoyed hunting Easter eggs with their friends.  This week I would love to introduce you to the teachers of our Ducks classroom:  Mrs. Thelissa Martinez and Mrs. Crista Meyers!  This is their third year of teaching together in our older two-year-old classroom, and the children have so much fun!  These children love to explore, play together, and have the best time singing in chapel!  This week they are learning about all the beautiful colors that God made in our world!  The children excitedly put on goggles and became scientists in the classroom by experimenting with food coloring, baking soda, and vinegar to see what color would appear!  We love to learn new things at CLC!

Finally, CLC would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Kathey Henley, Duane Pfluger, Billy Rose, and Anita Stubblefield for their help recently during our Family Fun Night!  They helped sort and bag over 330 Chick-Fil-A sandwiches for the families, and we appreciate all of their loving help!  May you be blessed this week!

Discipleship and Education
by David Sweet

These kids just got off of the church van and can't wait to get into church!  Their parents and younger sibling are right behind them.

We started our van ride ministry last Sunday!  We already have a few families in need of rides.  Thanks Mark Lantrip and Tony Longoria for volunteering to drive the church van on Sunday mornings.  We could use a few more so everyone has one Sunday a month.

Let me know if you want to be in on this kind of joyful service to our community!

Children's Ministry News
by Ethan Graves

Hey Y'all!

*Don't forget to join Greg and me at 4:30 pm in the High School room on Sunday (4/28) afternoon for our Parent Equipping - "Is technology ruining my child?"

The Holy Spirit is moving in the hearts of our kids! Multiple of our Truth in Training AWANA clubbers (3rd -5th grades) have memorized the Bible verses in all 3 of the AWANA handbooks. One handbook is designed to take a school year to complete. They have moved onto memorizing the book of Colossians, and are on pace to finish that before AWANA ends on May 29th.

We are already starting to recruit for AWANA in the fall. This year we will add a Cubbies program for our Pre-K kids. You could also be a handbook leader, administrative helper or Group Lesson teacher. Want to get involved? Just let me know ( ethan@hayshill.com or 512-749-9282).

Speaking of ways to get involved, would you consider spending 1 Sunday @ HHCM?
Looking for some ways to cool down this summer? Come spend a Sunday with the coolest kids on the planet. Our wonderful Bible Life teachers will have a few Sundays where they will be out of town. Would you consider spending 1 Sunday in Children's Ministry as a substitute? We would love to have you and if you want to bring a friend to serve with you... the more the merrier :)

Email ( ethan@hayshills.com) or call me if you are interested in any of these opportunities.

From Pastor Aaron

He is risen. There is an empty tomb in Israel. Jesus is alive! And Jesus is working today, through the Holy Spirit, to bring people to spiritual life.

On Sunday, I had the opportunity to visit with people at the conclusion of both services about placing their hope and trust in Jesus and finding salvation in Him. We rejoiced as more than 800 people gathered to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus.

This Sunday isn't going to be a let-down. In our 10:45am service we'll celebrate in baptism with those who have been transferred from the domain of darkness into Jesus' marvelous light. We'll hear the testimonies of those who were dead in their trespasses and sins until they were made alive by the power of the Holy Spirit through the work of Jesus Christ.

It's going to be a powerful morning in which we are reminded that Jesus is alive and is still at work in the world and in the lives of you and me.

I look forward to celebrating with you again on Sunday!
