The Christian Learning Center has begun another school year: our 28th year! Last week we welcomed back 159 students and 29 staff members to CLC! The children are learning their new schedule, making new friends, using their imagination, building, painting, and having fun!! One of our favorite times at CLC is when we have chapel. This is a time when we sing, read Bible stories, pray, and praise God! We always have prayer leaders who hold the Bible, Christian flag, and American flag while the pledges are recited. It has been such a joy to watch these children having fun in chapel and learning just how very much God loves them!
This year at CLC we will be focusing on our older students memorizing a different Bible verse each month.
Our Bible verse this month is "Be kind to one another" Ephesians 4:32. We will be learning about how to be kind in everything we do to glorify God...from being a good friend, a helper, a good listener, and obeying our Mom and Dad. We are so excited about this school year! May you be blessed this week!

We are off to an amazing start this school year! Our middle school and high school rooms have been packed with students! It is so exciting to see so many students hungry for the word of God and the community of the church! Please continue to pray for our students and our leadership team! I know this school year will be a challenge, but I know that God has many great things in store!
Don't miss out on lunch! The next 2 Sundays we will have lunch available after the second service. The first week we are inviting all families with kids and students to join us for a lunch where we will share some exciting things about this school year for Family Ministry here at Hays Hills. The following Sunday we will be selling lunch as a fundraiser for our juniors and seniors who will be attending our retreat, Oasis '19, in October.
September 15th at 4:30 we will have our first Parent Round Table of the year! This is a chance to sit down with Ethan and I as well as other families to discuss some of the challenges we face as parents. This time around we will be asking the question, "How's your family Bible study going?". Even if your answer is "really great!", you can be a huge asset in this time as you share and help encourage other parents. I look forward to a lot of great discussion and growth during this time and I encourage all parents to consider attending!

Have you ever spent a whole day doing an activity you love and gone to bed feeling blessed? Well, blessings abound in Children's Ministry! Our new school year is full of God's grace. Children are asking questions about what faith in Jesus looks like and expressing a desire to be baptized. Children's Worship is regularly experiencing 60+ kids, and AWANA started off amazingly! Our new Cubbies program nearly doubled in attendance from the first week to the second week! Thank you for all the prays and support you give for HHCM. God is doing amazing work in the lives of our kids.
If you would like the opportunity to join God's blessings in HHCM you could,
- Chaperone Missions Camp (November 15-17)
- Help Mrs. Sweet with her Bible Life Class which is so full I keep adding tables to the room
- Join the Children's Worship rotation
- Serve as an AWANA handbook leader (for the 1st 20 minutes of the night or the whole night).

From Pastor Aaron
On September 15th, we have two special opportunities to be used by the Lord to bless the nations.
First, we'll take time to pray for Sherrell Ladd as we send her to Istanbul, Turkey to encourage the Cathey family in their work and to minister alongside them. In the service you can gather around Sherrell and pray for her, the Catheys, and the people of Turkey. Before the service you can write cards to the Cathey family and present them to Sherrell so that she can deliver the cards as a symbol of our love and support. In writing a card to Justin, Johanna and their children you are reminding them that you love and care for them because the Lord loves and cares for them; you're reminding them that they are not alone or forgotten but are a part of the body of Christ.
Second, we'll have time in our services to hear briefly from the Armand family who serve as translators among unreached peoples in the Himalayas. Then at 6pm the Armands will return to share more in depth about their life and ministry. Your presence reminds the Armands that we are linking arms with them in their work to see every tribe and people have the scriptures in their hands and in their tongue.
May the Lord use us to bring life-changing hope, to an ever-changing people, through the unchanging gospel - both to our neighbors and to the nations!
Kathey Henley was deployed by Homeland Security to serve in Hurricane ravaged Bahamas. Conditions are very poor. Pray for her strength.
