Complete Streets

We’re excited to share lessons from Indiana’s Complete Streets efforts as part of a national webinar, Innovative Approaches to Implementing Complete Streets , next Monday, July 22, at 2 p.m. That work, through our partnership with the Indiana State Department of Health Cancer Control Section , is also highlighted in a newly released case study .

Speaking of Complete Streets in Indiana, have you reviewed Best Practices in Engaging Public Health in Complete Streets Initiatives , a recently released report that also features Indiana partners?

The Complete Streets Act of 2019 has been introduced in Congress ! The bill would require states to set aside money for Complete Streets projects, create a statewide program to award the money (and provide technical support), and adopt design standards that support safer, complete streets.

Representative And Carson is a cosponsor, which is important since Indiana’s Seventh District ranks as the 68 th most dangerous congressional district for people walking. Learn more and take action here .

Our Health Equity Summit: Changing the Conversation , will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2019, at the Indianapolis Marriott East .

The event will feature a national expert, Lili Farhang of Human Impact Partners , and share case studies of health equity efforts here in Indiana and beyond.

Registration is $75.00 through Friday, August 9; after that it is $100.00. Scholarships and sponsorship opportunities are available.

The report (by Enterprise Community Partners and NeighborWorks America) details a pilot program that equipped 20 affordable housing and community development organizations to evaluate the health outcomes across a range of programs
