Amazingly, this ANCIENT song by America popped in my mind as I began typing this sermon this late Easter/RESURRECTION DAY!!??
I awoke (PRAISE THE LORD FOR AWAKENING AGAIN!!) at the CRACK of 10:30 AM having finally fallen asleep at 4:30 AM-just another typical night for myself.
It is a beautiful Easter/Resurrection Day morning in the South as the sun is shining brilliantly and happy families dressed in matching dress fill my FB page.
I “think” I have ANOTHER kidney stone and am suffering through ANOTHER two week bout of abdominal discomfort as I await my Urologist appt. this coming Tuesday-the state of medical care in America has fallen to frightening low!!!!

On this happy and BLESSED Resurrection Day many people are still struggling with life in general.
It is impossible to even begin to think of those suffering in war torn countries as they hide in basements from countless bombs and missiles...............................
Imagine what the followers and family of Jesus felt as they watched their Savior and LOVED one suffer the excruciating pain and HUMILIATION of death on a cruel Cross.
Try to imaging their PAIN on that frightful Saturday as they prepared His savaged and mutilated Body for burial.
NO ONE had EVER risen from the dead before!!!! They had no knowledge of even hope that Jesus would EVER be alive again!!!!!!!!!!!!
JESUS WAS DEAD-D-E-A-D!!! ALL HOPE WAS GONE!!
No Easter bunny could lighten their day, no matching outfit would suffice.

In fact, the KEY Words in the above Scripture say it best:
They, (His family and followers) “STOOD AFAR OFF.”
There was nothing they could do to “fix” it!! Their pain was real and agonizing.
As I type this, several have already spoken to me even as early as this morning, lonely and hurting, as they and their loved ones are suffering TODAY on this most Holy day.
And NO, I am sorry to inform you MR. Allman Brothers Band, that YES, it IS you and mine' “CROSS TO BEAR!!!!”
And YES, we HAVE been “tied to the whipping post!!!”

34 And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
WE, who dare to follow this Risen Savior, are REQUIRED to “take up his cross” and “FOLLOW” Christ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please note that neither “his” nor “cross” is capitalized!! It is NOT “His/Jesus” Cross (capitalized) cross to bear but our INDIVIDUAL cross to carry!!!!!!!!!!!!
Philippians 1:29 (KJV)
29 For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;
On this glad Resurrection Day may each of us rejoice that Jesus IS risen from the dead and WE have hope for tomorrow whether we live or die/sink or swim.
THIS WORLD IS NOT OUR HOME OR HAPPINESS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Luke 24:6 (KJV)
6 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,
“HE IS NOT HERE, BUT IS RISEN!!!”
PRAISE BE TO OUR LIVING SAVIOR!!
