Dear Parents,

Our third grade students rocked the Georgia Milestones Assessment this week. Students commented that it was not as difficult as they thought it would be. Our teachers have prepared them well. Testing will continue next week.

Monday is Color Stable Dress-up Day! Students can dress up in their stable color and support their team. Digital students can post a picture on the Padlet on their eCLASS page.

There have been many phone calls about summer school. The county has developed a summer enrichment and acceleration program for each school. There is a digital component and an in-person component. In-person students will be by invitation only and based on student need. All students can access the digital components. Summer enrichment and acceleration will be held from June 14 – July 2.

Kindergarten registration is now open. If you have a child that will be 5 on or before September first, please make sure you register them online for next school year. Kinder Camp will be provided in-person for all incoming kindergarten students and will take place during the summer enrichment program, June 14 – July 2. Students must be registered for kindergarten in order to attend kinder camp.

Have a great weekend and don’t forget to read!!!

The Gwinnett County Board of Education is moving forward in its search to identify the school district's next superintendent. An essential part of the search process is obtaining feedback from stakeholders in the community. As a member of our school community, we hope you will participate in the online survey to share your thoughts on the qualities you would like to see in the next superintendent. The survey is open through 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, May 16, and is available in English, Spanish, Korean, Chinese, and Vietnamese. Click here to take the Gwinnett Community Superintendent Search Survey.

Google Workspace for Education & Digital Citizenship
A reminder that students should be practicing good digital citizenship by using their GCPS Google account for instructional purposes only.

Students should NOT share items in Google with others unless specifically instructed to do so by a teacher.

The students have been reminded of this, but please reinforce this with your child and feel free to ask them to sign in and show you what they have saved in their My Drive and in their Shared with me section.

Also, students do have access to Gmail with their GCPS Google account. With this access, students can only email within our GCPS Google domain using their school Gmail account. They are not able to email outside of that domain (ex: They cannot send an email to a teacher's Outlook email address or a student's personal Gmail address) or receive emails from outside sources. Students should be using this feature for instructional purposes only and when specifically instructed to do so by a teacher.

As a parent, one way you can practice digital citizenship is to monitor your child's online activity.
