MRS. JOHNSON'S NOTES
Dear Parents,

Our monthly AR competition ends on Sunday. Please get all your AR tests taken. Will you make it to the million-word club? As I walk through the halls of the school and pop into Zoom sessions, I am reminded of the amazing students and staff that we have at Head! I am so thankful I get to work at such an amazing school.

On Monday, we will kick off our PTA Step-It-Up fundraiser. Students will win prizes by just sending out texts or emails to family and friends. Be on the lookout for an email on Monday. The money raised will go towards purchasing additional Chromebooks for the school. We are looking forward to your support.

Sign-up for parent teacher conferences opens today at 4:00. All parent conferences will be held virtually. Our goal is to have a conference for each student. Please take time to sign up for a conference.
All parents should have received progress reports in the mail. If you did not receive a progress report, please contact your child's teacher.

Have a great weekend!

AROUND SCHOOL

MEDIA CENTER

The Challenge has begun!
Please help our school, former schools, and the public library by returning overdue books.  Students at Head will see books overdue when they log into the media catalog, as well as books from prior schools if new to our school.  If there is a fine (from a truly lost or damaged book) you can click to see the name of the books and try to find.  Books can be returned to any school or public library this next week.  We'll take care of getting them where they need to go!  We have 2 book returns inside the school.  One by the front door and one by the media center. There will also be a bin outside in the car rider lane to return books as well......except if raining.

Putting books on hold through public library or checking to see what is due:
With this link you enter the child's student ID number, and their password is their birth month and day (ex. 0317.)  From here you can navigate and put books on hold at your closest Gwinnett Public Library. Just another way to keep reading or supplement what you check out from the school. Most books have AR so once you finish your book you can take a quiz.

If you have a library card you can reserve books that way as well.

Our AR challenge for January ends on 1/31.  Don't forget to get your quizzes done!  We can't wait to see the top 3 from every grade for January!  https://global-zone05.renaissance-go.com/welcomeportal/310783  Take AR quizzes here.  This link is also on the student eclass page.

Happy Reading!
