MRS. JOHNSON'S NOTES
Dear Parents,

We had a great transition to school for our second and third grade in-person students this week. Thank you for your patience as we continue to perfect teaching both digitally and in-person. We appreciate all your feedback. Together, we can create great things!

On Wednesday, our fourth and fifth grade in-person students will be joining us at school. We are asking parents to honor their commitment to be in-person or digital, as we have made schedule changes to accommodate the number of students that are in each classroom.

Please be aware that teachers are teaching throughout the day and often times are unable to respond immediately to emails. Teachers do have 24 hours to respond. In addition, parents should not be interrupting the instruction of the teacher during the lesson. Thank you for helping improve our digital experience.

Parents of car riders, please be aware that students should arrive at school by 8:30, allowing time for students to get breakfast and complete morning work prior to the class meeting at 8:45. All students that ride buses are in the building by 8:25.

PTA is an important organization. If you have not joined, please go to MyPaymentsPlus to join.

Just a reminder that Monday is Labor Day. There is no school.

Join us for our virtual curriculum night on September 15 (K-2) and September 17 (3-5) beginning at 6:30. Teachers will review expectations and be able to answer any questions.

Enjoy your weekend. We will see you on Tuesday!

Book Holds
Virtual learners: If your child puts a hold on a book by 3:30 pm on Wednesday it will be ready to pick up on Friday, if it is available.  Hours to pick up for virtual learners are Fridays from 9:15-10:45 am and 1:00-2:15 pm.  You can contact the media center if you have any questions.

In the media catalog, click on the tab on the top left of the screen (hamburger-3 lines) to show holds, checkouts, etc.  Books unavailable will show under hold tab and will be checked out to the student when available.  Under the checkout tab it will show all checked out to the student, so you know you are ready for Friday pickup.  (If you or your child do not see a blue "hold" button in the media catalog, please email maria.branch@gcpsk12.org)
