The students had a great time at field day this week. Thanks to PTA for supplying the freeze pops, Coach Gusmerotti for planning the events, and for special area teachers for helping to support the event, since we could not have parent volunteers helping this year. Although it was not a typical field day, it was nice to have an event for students.
We have a very busy week coming up. Tuesday is a digital learning day. Students will have asynchronous lessons and tasks to complete throughout the day. After a hard day of digital learning, stop by Dogwood Pizza and get dinner. A portion of the proceeds comes to the school and the class with the most students gets a free pizza party.
Georgia Milestones testing begins next week. See the schedule below for specific grade levels and test dates. Although this test will not be used for promotion to the next grade level, the test is important for the school and next year’s teachers to address any learning gaps that might present. Please encourage your child to do their best, use their scratch paper, and annotate articles to help answer questions. Our students have been working hard all year and will do an amazing job.
Have a great weekend and don’t forget to encourage your child to read nightly. Are they close to making it to the million-word club? I’m getting close! Can they beat me?
