Dear WCS Families -

As the 2024/2025 school year comes to a close, we praise God for all the ways that He blessed both our communities. We pray that this summer will provide a time of rest and rejuvenation for the students and their families! 

A few short months ago, it was announced to our communities that HCA and WCS are partnering to launch a new Christian school. Since the prayerful decision was made to partner, both the Elder Board of HBC and the School Board of WCS are taking solid strides to ensure a smooth and successful transition, including establishing the steering committee, working with an outside consultant, consulting with legal counsel, strategizing leadership structure and more. One of the keys to ensuring success for this new partnership is the unity, continuity and stability of leadership. The summer months are so important for school administration and leadership to review, revise, and revamp the internal workings of a school. This summer, in particular, is important for school leadership at both HCA and WCS to continue to build relationships across the communities and strategize for the 2025/2026 school year.  

The Head of School serves as the foundation of leadership of the school, responsible for the oversight of all departments and programs. This role is essential in cultivating a healthy and collaborative culture among faculty and staff, while strategically guiding the school in alignment with its mission, vision, core values, and long-term strategic objectives. The Head of School is also the bridge connecting the school, the school board and parent community.

Both the Elder Board of HBC and the School Board of WCS have confidence that Carlye Hay is equipped to handle leading this faith-filled initiative and all that it brings with it. We are excited to announce, effective today, Carlye will be the new Head of School for both communities. She will also lead the transition teams toward bringing the two locations together on a single campus for the 2026/2027 school year. 

Thank you all who have been praying for this process and this partnership, it is amazing to see how God is working in and through each step. Please continue to pray for the partnership, the leadership, and that we will follow God’s plan and will for this next chapter.

Carlye brings a wealth of experience, strong spiritual leadership, and deep educational expertise to this role. She holds a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education, a Master’s in Special Education, and an Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in Administration. She is currently completing her Doctorate in Educational Leadership.

Over the years, Carlye has served in a variety of roles within education, including Head of School, principal, teacher, Supplemental Education Services (SES) coordinator, and instructional coach. Her leadership is marked by wisdom, grace, and a genuine love for both students and teachers. These qualities have been clearly demonstrated during her time at WCS as the current Head of School and throughout the process leading up to this exciting new partnership.

Above all, Carlye is a devoted follower of Jesus and is passionate about Christ-centered education. She aligns wholeheartedly with the vision of the new partnership, and we are confident she will lead with strength, humility, and vision.

Carlye is married to Pastor Don Hay, who is the campus pastor at Christ Community Church in Huntley. They have four children: their recently married son, Jacob, and his wife, Grace; daughter, Abby, who has just graduated from college; and twin daughters, Maya and Olivia, who will be entering their senior year of high school.
