Dear GMS Families,
As we enter the final two weeks of our 2019-20 school year, we are looking forward to celebrating our students and our community. In The Pinwheel on Wednesday, we'll share more details about our virtual Moving Up Ceremonies on Thursday, June 4 and the Drive-By Farewell Party we're planning for the morning of last day of school, Friday June 5.
And as the 2019-20 school year wraps up, our planning for the 2020-21 year continues to move forward. As we refine our final plans for summer camp in July and our planned in-person reopening this fall, we wanted to set aside time to talk through the plans with our families. This coming week we are offering several time slots when you can join one of our "Head of School Huddles." While we will not share a finalized reopening plan during these 90-minute Huddles, we will share our current thinking, the factors that are guiding our planning, and the scenarios for which we are preparing.
We are offering a morning, lunchtime, and evening Huddle, as we want these conversations to be accessible to any family who's interested in participating. RSVP links and details are below. We will follow the Huddles with a community-wide email at the end of the week, sharing updates for summer camp and fall reopening and asking families to share more feedback on an end-of-year survey on remote learning.
We are cautiously, albeit joyfully, heading into a school year unlike any before, and we know the only way to make it work is through partnership, understanding, and open dialogue. While we have no illusion that it will be easy or straightforward, our entire team has faith and optimism that we have another fantastic school year ahead of us. I look forward to "seeing" many of you this week at our Huddles to share our thinking and to hear your thinking.
Stay safe, stay positive, and have a great Memorial Day weekend.
