We are very pleased to share that the SKS Head Search Committee has now identified three finalist candidates who have been invited to a campus visit. Each one will be at SKS for an evening with the Board, a full day of visits with individuals and groups, and a third, shorter day with more appointments. The “Finalist Visit” is meant to help provide as much information as possible to the candidate so that they will know what to expect if offered the position. In turn, it is also an opportunity for us to get a sense of what each candidate would bring to our community.
To this end, please understand that there are three formal interviews (i.e. planned questions being asked and answered) that will happen during each visit; those are with the Board, the Advisory Committee (composed of stakeholder group representatives), and the Search Committee. Everyone else should engage in a “social” conversation; that is, you are getting to know one another. You will surely have some questions for each candidate, but please encourage them to ask what they want to know from you as well. Have fun and try to enjoy your time together.
A short email will go out 24 hours before each finalist arrives to:
- introduce you to who will be coming on campus,
- include a survey link as the vehicle for sharing your impressions of the candidate with the Search Committee, and
- remind you again of group meeting times and locations (see below).
This is an exciting time, but it all happens quickly, and we want to keep each finalist as distinct from the others as possible. As you know, we have worked hard to honor the confidentiality involved in a search like this and to respect the privacy of each candidate. We hope you will do the same as identities are revealed.
As mentioned in our last letter, we have scheduled group meetings for both parents and faculty and staff. Individual, Board and small group meetings will be communicated internally. Please note on your calendars the following days/time and location for your respective group meetings:
