Head of School Search Update

Berkeley Community:

I wanted to update you on the Head of School Search process. Carney Sandoe & Associates has spent the last six weeks developing a pool of candidates for the Search Committee to review. Carney began by informing thousands of educators about the Head of School opportunity at Berkeley Preparatory School. Thereafter, they reached out to administrators around the country, especially those affiliated with the Florida Council of Independent Schools. They also contacted those who were nominated by others. As a result of these efforts, Carney identified 75 potential candidates who might have an interest in the position and whose qualifications warranted further consideration. Carney conducted interviews and reference checks, as well as consulted with colleagues to scale this group back to 14 candidates who were presented to the Search Committee for further consideration.

The Search Committee has begun the process of vetting these candidates to further narrow the group. At this stage, candidates’ identities are kept strictly confidential. Rest assured that we are leading a thorough and diligent process. The responses you provided during the on-campus meetings and in the survey informed the creation of the Position Description and are foremost in our minds as we evaluate dossiers and have conversations with candidates. The Search Committee is very excited about the progress that has been made to date. We will keep you informed throughout this process as we have information to share. Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Chad Harrod 95
