Dear Robert M. Beren Academy Stakeholders,
We are excited to share with you the news that Rabbi Jordan Silvestri will be the next Head of School for Robert M. Beren Academy, beginning July 1, 2022.
Rabbi Silvestri currently serves as the Associate Director of Student Life at Yeshivah of Flatbush Middle School in Brooklyn, NY. Prior to that role, Rabbi Silvestri served as Dean of Students at the Ramaz Lower School in Manhattan, NY. Rabbi Silvestri received his Master of Social Work from Hunter College in New York, as well as a Bachelor of Arts from Yeshiva University. Rabbi Silvestri was also ordained by Pirchei Shoshanim in New York. Rabbi Silvestri is married to Mrs. Eileen Silvestri, a Jewish day school educator and together they have three children who will be attending Robert M. Beren Academy in the following grades in the fall, Chayli (6th), Eliana (3rd), and Koby (EC-2).
As you may be aware, Rabbi Silvestri and his family, came for the weekend to visit our Beren community, and met with parents, faculty, and lay leadership. Over the course of his visits, he demonstrated tremendous warmth, energy, enthusiasm, engagement, and leadership. For those who have not had a chance to meet Rabbi Silvestri, he plans on visiting multiple times before his official start date, and we will keep stakeholders and potential stakeholders posted as to his arrival. It is hard to miss the great strengths and potential Rabbi Silvestri has as our next Head of School.
Finally, I want to express my gratitude again to the entire Search Committee, Faculty, Parents, Students, and Consultants for spending countless hours to navigate and assist the school through this process. The Search Committee in particular, devoted countless hours to interviewing candidates and discussing them with the singular goal of identifying our next Head of School. Simply put, we could not have arrived at this point without their efforts and commitment.
