Greetings!

Happy New Year, Bonne Annee, Mîkwâc Nîhithaw, Mino Oshki Biboon, Ukiumi Nutaami Quviasugit...

Language matters.

One of the recipient communities of the Community Initiatives Program (made possible through your generous donations) is focusing on bringing the Inuktitut culture to life for new generations. Part of the Grade 3 Culture Days program in Kuujjuarapik QC includes read-alouds in Inuktitut.

This is just a glimpse into the amazing work Indigenous communities are doing, thanks to your generous donations. We look forward to sharing more stories from community in 2026, and to your ongoing support.

Canada by Canoe

The official kick off was held for Canada by Canoe at Mountain Equipment Company's flagship Toronto location on January 24th.

Stephen Paquette, Indigenous educator and leader, is pictured here at the launch event with canoeists Georges, Will, and Nolan. Building relationships is at the heart of this endeavour. See how this relationship began.

Northern Reads Update

New, Indigenous-authored books have been sent to 15 remote communities so far this year. For many children in these remote locations, it may be the first time they have seen themselves in storybooks. Learn more about this flagship program and where your donations have sent books this year so far!

LEGO Replay

Since 2021, True North Aid has partnered with LEGO Replay, where people pass forward their much-loved LEGO bricks and share the power of play with children in northern communities.

LEGO has committed 2000 boxes to communities served by True North Aid in 2026. Donate your LEGO bricks and inspire the builders of tomorrow.

Hockey Cares

The Hockey Cares team is excitedly preparing for the arrival of players from Kugaaruk, Nunavut. The Kugaaruk players, making the long journey south in February, are taking part in an exchange with players from Ridley College in St. Catharines, ON. Moon Time Connections

The Moon Time Connections team is starting the year with a powerful milestone: 11 million period products shipped north - since 2017.

What began as a response to urgent need has grown into a national movement rooted in dignity, access, and self-determination. Each shipment of products supports health, confidence, and the reclamation of Moon Time as a source of strength, knowledge, and power.

This milestone belongs to Community, and the countless partners, donors, volunteers and advocates who make this work possible. Menstrual rights are human rights.

Purolator Shipping Partnership

We are pleased to announce that Purolator has joined the efforts of True North Aid, as one of our shipping partners for 2026.

Purolator is donating $30,000 worth of shipping costs to help True North Aid get much needed humanitarian aid to northern communities.

RCMP Foundation

The RCMP Foundation presented True North Aid with a $5000 donation, funded through sales of their Sherpa blanket in December 2025. An exciting new blanket design is in the works for 2026 (by an Indigenous artist), with proceeds supporting the charity. Stay tuned!
