. These ten theologians and activists have contributed to the public discourse on religious politics which challenges the patriarchal theology of Brazil.

bio includes the following:

Governing Board Webinar
Governing Board members will review the General Conference Business Meeting Procedure Manual. A Question and Answer session will follow. The panel will include led by Rev. Miak Siew, Rev. Onetta Brooks, Marsha Warren, and Rev. Elder Rachelle Brown, Interim Moderator.
The webinar will be recorded and posted on social media.

1 May 2019 is the freeze date for churches to determine their Lay Delegate count for General Conference. Send Lay Delegate updates--names and email addresses--to MCC staff member Janine McCarthy at

Registration is not required for the Governing Board or Moderator Nominating Committee webinars.
Webinars will be recorded and posted on social media.
Please consider viewing the webinars as a church or small group. MCC is charged additional fees when more than 100 participants log in.

Governing Board Slate Announced
The General Conference will elect four clergy persons and four lay persons.
The two clergy candidates and two lay candidates who receive the highest vote totals will be elected to full six-year terms. The next two candidates from each house will be elected to three-year terms.

University Selects MCC Brighton for Student Placement Course

MCC Brighton has been chosen as a student placement opportunity for the Social Policy and Practice Course at Brighton University.
Andrew Ramage, pictured left, is the pastor at MCC Brighton, located in Brighton, UK.
To be considered, Pastor Ramage successfully completed a rigorous application process and an open questions event at Brighton University.
Pastor Ramage said two students have been accepted for placement and will begin in October.
"
We look forward to working closely with the university and helping young people engage in social justice," he said.

Rev. Dr. Rodger Harrison
16 June 1928 - 15 March 2019
Rev. Dr. Rodger Harrison recalls in his biography that he was the sixth clergy person to join MCC, and was called by Founder Rev. Troy Perry to start a church in Orange County in 1970.
Rev. Harrison is survived by his partner Dante Nagtalon.

Rev. Celena Duncan
23 January 1946 - 19 March 2019
Rev. Celena Duncan was an active member of MCC Topeka where she served as Volunteer Clergy, and more recently as coordinator of Adult Education.
Prior to her retirement, Rev. Duncan was the pastor of Good Shepherd MCC in Chicago, Illinois, USA, and MCC of Johnson County in Kansas City, Kansas, USA. She was also a veteran and served in the Air Force.
Rev. Duncan is survived by her husband of 40 years, Jack Boren. They openly and proudly identified as bisexual, and in so doing made a profound impact on the lives of many.
