MCC Clergy Joins Global Panel at UN to Examine
Inclusive LGBTIQ Rights
With the support of Global Affairs Canada (GAC), Rev. Dr. Brent Hawkes, C.M. was invited to be a panelist in a ground-breaking "side event" at the United Nations in Geneva, 2 July 2019, entitled “Religious Communities Affirming LGBTIQ People around the World.”

The event sought to amplify the efforts of people of faith and share the realities lived by individuals and communities from different contexts around the world.

Shenandoah Valley MCC Achieves Affiliation

Shenandoah Valley MCC, located in Winchester, Virginia, USA, is the latest church to be granted full affiliation. The church had been partially supported on its journey by Open Doors MCC, Boyds, Maryland, USA.

MCC Brighton, UK, Expands Ministries

MCC Brighton, UK, is extending its ministry in Hastings, UK, with a church service to complement its street church ministry. They have been working with local residents to bring their street ministry to the town center and will now worship twice a month at the friends meeting house.

Pastor Andrew Ramage said, “We have been working in Hastings for the past year and are really excited that we are now able to have a worship service which is open to all. We are committed to bringing our fully inclusive message to Hastings.”

The first service will be on 27 August 2019, with discussion starting at 4:30 and worship starting at 5:30.
