New Budget Season Provides Opportunities to Find Common Ground Gene Barr, President and CEO
Early this month, Gov. Tom Wolf will give his fifth budget address to a joint session of the General Assembly. This annual speech is the official kickoff to the state's budget season and gives the governor the opportunity to outline his policy goals for the year ahead. While there's good news on the state's fiscal front, with state revenues coming above projections throughout the first half of the 2019-20 fiscal year, that's not to say it will be an easy road to a final budget.

Several property owners being assisted by the Chamber
a Christmas present from the state Department of Community & Economic Development. KOEZ (Keystone Opportunity Expansion Zone) benefits were granted to properties across upper Northumberland County, including ones owned by Central PA Chamber members.
The designation means that the included properties will not be charged property taxes for a 10-year period, starting on Jan. 1, 2019 and ending Dec. 31, 2028.
Chamber of Business & Industry of Centre County
The Chamber and its young professionals arm - CBICC Connect - recently launched a new initiative designed to encourage more residents to serve on local authorities, boards, and commissions.
ABC Essentials will offer
a series of monthly, hour-long presentations designed to explore the many authorities, boards and commissions that are responsible for guiding municipal, county and regional decisions.
