PA Chamber Applauds Governor's Focus on Workforce Development in 2019-20 Budget Proposal, Warns Against Policies That Will Hurt State's

The 2019-20 budget process is officially underway and with it has come a renewed sense of optimism that a budget will be finalized by the June 30th constitutional deadline.  With year-to-date revenue collections currently $290 million above estimate, the governor's budget proposal does not include any broad-based tax increases.

On February 4,  Grow PA advocates from across the state visited Harrisburg to brief legislators on the movement and the upcoming release of Grow PA's legislative priorities.

Main Line Chamber   
The Society of Professional Women (SPW), a program of the Chamber, hosted its Trademark Event with Tiffanie Stanard on Thursday, February 21st at Radnor Valley Country Club in Villanova.   Stanard is the Founder/CEO of Stimulus, a technology company providing solutions to bring economic equality to life through a web-based search engine, marketplace and intelligence platform for grants and sponsorships
Somerset County Chamber   
The Chamber, in partnership with Seven Springs Mountain Resort, was recently awarded a $105,000 grant from PA for a PA Craft Beer Festival, focused on PA Craft Brewers. This education/tasting event is scheduled to be held on June 29-30 at the resort. The festival is predicted to attract 35-40 PA craft beer vendors and upwards to 10,000 visitors generating over $1.2 million in economic impact. Craft Breweries in Pennsylvania have grown from 88 in 2011 to 282 in 2017.
