Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber
On August 22, Virginia Chamber President & CEO Barry DuVal spoke to a group in Danville's River District at a breakfast hosted by the Chamber . DuVal focused on Blueprint 2025 and its role in elevating Virginia to the #1 state to do business. After the breakfast, the Chamber's annual sponsors and board members engaged in a focused conversation with DuVal at a small reception.
On August 26, the Chamber facilitated part of Senator Mark Warner's visit to Southside. After an agribusiness roundtable in Chatham, Senator Warner engaged with a small, cross-sector group of business leaders in Danville. To cap off his trip, he visited with Danville's Young Professionals at a local brewery.

Salem-Roanoke County Chamber
As part of our Let's Get Down to Business Series, the Chamber is hosting a Break Glass in Case of Emergency panel discussion.  I had the inspiration after a local business experienced a devastating fire. This event will offer our small to medium businesses a starting point to create an emergency plan with the help of subject matter experts. The event will have representatives from human resources, communications, property insurance, IT and the cyber realm, compliance and the emergency nuts and bolts (fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, etc.) as well as physical restoration.

The Chamber has gone through a bit of re-branding recently, and they have four signature events as well as their LGDTB series, and they felt the time was right to launch a purely networking program to further their portfolio of offerings to their members.  The new Brewing Up Business program will take place the 4th Thursday of each month (except Thanksgiving), and they're kicking it off September 26 at one of their new member breweries, Parkway Brewing Company.
