Dear Parents,

We are thrilled to have successfully navigated two weeks of school in this truly unique climate. In such unprecedented times, I am delighted to see that our students, faculty and staff have been following our protocols and guidelines and in turn, it provided us all with the opportunity to enjoy another full week of classes! We are also adjusting well to our new systems and technology. We are a resilient community and I personally wanted to thank our teachers and our students for their patience and flexibility as we all learned, adapted and mastered the school's new systems.

Since March, our MC Nurse, Elizabeth Paquette has assisted us in navigating these uncharted waters with her outstanding professionalism, extensive education and love for our entire Malden Catholic family. She worked diligently throughout the entire summer establishing our safety protocols and pursuing additional training from Johns Hopkins University to become a skilled contact tracer to keep us all healthy and well. Due to the needs of her immediate family, she has now been called to move into a supportive remote role for Malden Catholic. She will remain with us remotely and pursue the same diligent practices and procedures in monitoring the health of the school community. In the event that we need to pursue contact tracing, she will continue on as our expert and notify anyone who may have been in close contact.

Over the summer, Elizabeth has been training Nurse Carol Olive. Ms. Olive will be onsite to administer to the daily needs of our students, faculty and staff while continuing to work closely with Nurse Paquette. We all send Mrs. Paquette our love and greatly appreciate her decades of service and dedication to our school.

Whenever possible, be sure to get out and enjoy this beautiful fall weather and please continue to follow all social distancing guidelines set by the Department of Public Health.

Thank you for your support,

John K. Thornburg

What's New?
Leadership, Advisory and Campus Ministry Introduction
Last week we provided the students with an overview of the MC Leadership, Advisory and Campus Ministry programs. We also had the opportunity to introduce Jeannine Reardon as our new Director of Student Leadership Programs. We are very excited about the skills and support Mrs. Reardon can provide in shaping the leadership path for of our students going forward.
MC's Remote Learning Featured in the News
Malden Catholic was featured in Wicked Local as a trail blazer in the remote learning education. "In preparation for the start of school in a hybrid re-entry model where half of the students attend the school live in a designated cohort and the other half attend class remotely, Malden Catholic recently partnered with LogMeIn to utilize their remote work products to deliver a fully connected classroom experience."

Lancers of Golf Was a Tremendous Success
Our 35th Annual Lancers of Golf sold-out tournament was a huge hit with over 100 alumni, parents and friends enjoying golf last Friday on a crisp fall morning. Thank you to everyone who supported Malden Catholic as a participant and as a sponsor!
