Hi All,
I’ve realized that writing these newsletters has been part of my own healing journey this year. In just five months, I lost my Mom, my Papa, and my beloved dog, Maizy. I also made the difficult choice to release a few “energy vampires” from my life (more on that next month).
It amazes me how our animals, horses included, show up in our darkest hours. I want to share two examples . . .
Since Maizy’s passing, my rescue cat, Harvey Wallbanger, has stepped into the role of comforter. Every night he faithfully brings his “furbies” - one by one - to us, as we watch a tv show. By the next morning, they’ve all been returned to their "bed". He’s grieving too — and offering the only gifts he has to help soothe us.
For those wondering, yes - all the "furbies" have names (loosely left to right): Red Eye (apple), Fishy, Rocky (flying squirrel), Dirt Bag (the hairy one), Lamb E., and "Baby Jesus" (that's a long story.) See the photo below.
In a recent Gestalt session, a horse named Mystic beautifully “mimed” her client’s personality while her silent partner, Duke, stood nearby and held space. Mystic even aligned herself at the client’s heart and scattered a bag of grievances the client had been carrying. You can draw your own conclusions…we certainly have.
