Healing Perspectives

Season Greetings!

In case you missed my November News Update my Immune Guide is HERE This month I am particularly moved to share some philosophical thoughts and health and healing, the most important thing I have learned about health in 40 years is that we are solely responsible for preventing and healing disease. And yet there is a place for medical care. With all of the resources available to us in terms of foods, herbals, nutrients and homeopathy I will always believe we can impact any disease.

Secondly, I feel we everyone should recognize many disease processes are the way the body communicates there are imbalances. Generally we are born with a brilliant mind and body that seeks balance and well-being. Imbalances in digestion, hormones or immune function should not necessarily be addressed medically as the first line of defense, but proactively and preventively naturally. We have a built in alarm system in every organ and system in our body. We must tune in and listen to our body. The focus should always be how can we help achieve our best balance? The answer is individualized naturopathic plans.

What are your 2026 Health Goals? Please reach out to schedule your January health update.

Lastly, be careful out there in the health world, there is no quick fix on any diease process! Do not be fooled by any marketing campaign either medical or natural.

Wishing you a healthy holiday season.

VITAMIN GUIDE

A-Z

Lets start the new year off at the beginning with Vitamin A. Vitamin A is definitely an important vitamin, and no you can not get all your vitamins from food. In order to achieve optimal nutrient status you need this powerhouse vitamin. The most important aspect of vitamin A is its cartenoids, the pigments that come from the carrots, peppers, sweet potatoes, red and yellow fruits, etc.Vitamin A is important for eyesight, tissue healing, and growth, healthy skin, regulating genes, supporting immune health, lowering cancer risk.(Elson Haas, Staying Healthy with Nutrition).

Most adults need 5,000 IU. I like including vitamin A in a multivitamin. This vitamin gets depleted from alcohol use, certain illness, and medications.

Definitely include the vitamin A (beta-Carotene)rich foods into your diet. Other examples are broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbages, seaweed and spinach.
