Health & Fitness Expo This Weekend

St. Bernards Medical Group Health & Fitness Expo is this weekend! 

This FREE event will be held at First National Bank Arena on the Arkansas State University campus from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 13 and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 14. 

The 12th annual Expo offers people of this region access free health screenings, fitness and cooking demonstrations and free pre-participations evaluations for high school athletes. 

There will be panel discussions with St. Bernards physicians, the most vendor booths ever at the Expo, and races which will benefit the St. Bernards NICU, as well as a NICU reunion.

Health Screenings to be Offered at Expo 2019
One of the most important elements of Expo are the health screenings offered to the community FREE of charge. 

Here is the list of this year's screenings:
  • Full Blood Lipid Panel - Height, Weight, Blood Pressure, BMI, A1C, Cholesterol, Anemia and Prostate Level
  • Carotid Artery Screenings - SATURDAY ONLY
  • Skin Cancer Screenings - SATURDAY ONLY
  • Breast Exams and Mammograms - SATURDAY ONLY
  • Hearing Screenings - SATURDAY ONLY
  • Foot Screenings - SATURDAY ONLY
  • Vision Screenings

Hear from Physicians at the Doctor Discussion Panels

Many physicians will be participating in discussion panels on Saturday, April 13. 

This is your time to hear and learn firsthand from doctors about common medical conditions.  Check out the schedule below and make sure to bring any questions you may have!

11 a.m.What's New in Cancer Care?
2 p.m. : The Start of Something New - What Does the New Tower Mean for Patients?

Doc Rock & Run 5K/Half-Marathon and 
Kids Rock 1-Mile Fun Run to Benefit NICU
The Doc Rock & Run 5K and half marathon races will be held on Saturday, April 13. The Half Marathon will begin at 7:30 a.m. and the 5K will begin at 8 a.m. 
The Kids Rock 1-Mile Fun Run will be held on Sunday, April 14 and will begin at 2 p.m. outside at the lower Green Entrance of First National Bank Arena.
These races are held yearly to benefit the St. Bernards Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The NICU at St. Bernards is the only one in the region and offers local care for premature infants. 
New this year is a celebratory parade of NICU survivors to kick off the Kids Rock 1-Mile Fun Run.

Kids Zone Offers Fun and Learning
 
The Kids Zone at Expo will feature plenty of entertainment for kids of
all ages all weekend. 

It will feature many inflatables, Molly the Megabody Adventure, a Healthy Treasure Hunt, crafts with the Craighead County Public Library and more! 

This year, the annual St. Bernards NICU Reunion will be at the Expo.

On Sunday, April 14, from 1-4 p.m., NICU graduates are invited to visit the Kids Zone at Expo for fun activities, photo opportunities and a meet and greet with NICU staff members.
Student Athlete Pre-Participation Evaluations by St. Bernards Sports Medicine
On Sunday, April 14, St. Bernards Medical Group will provide the most comprehensive student physical available for your child, performed by physicians and high level providers. Screenings will be provided to students of public schools in Craighead County, and will include  height, weight, blood pressure, general medical, musculoskeletal, EKG (for 9th - 12th grades), and blood work for cholesterol, glucose and sickle cell testing (if requested).
