Training Tomorrow's Healthcare Workforce

Over 2,000 eager students across 14 counties in Western Kentucky are seizing the incredible opportunity to learn vital, life-saving medical skills through the transformative support offered by SOS and programing offered through West Area Health Education Center. With a focus on essential techniques such as CPR and Stop the Bleed, these aspiring healthcare professionals are being equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to make a tangible difference in their communities. By investing in the next generation of healthcare workers, SOS is championing a healthier future for all. Together, we can build an equitable healthcare landscape that uplifts everyone.

Expanding Healthcare in Rural Communities

The Post Clinic, a beacon of hope for individuals in rural Kentucky facing financial hardships, has made a remarkable impact by serving 1,123 patients across 23 counties in just the past six months. Our partnership with Post Clinic is a source of pride; the donated medical supplies from SOS are not merely items on a shelf but rather lifelines that empower the clinic to extend its reach and provide essential care to those who might otherwise go without. As Dr. Kendrick eloquently stated, “We are so grateful for the donated medical supplies from SOS. You are giving us the capacity to see more patients in need.”

Life Changing Surgeries in Belize

From California to Kentucky, SOS is supporting groups all across the country. Dr. Yen Hsich from UCLA, alongside 26 dedicated healthcare professionals from Partners Medical Relief, embarked on a transformative journey to Belize, fueled by the generous support from SOS. Together, they brought hope and healing to 100 patients at the Corozal Community Hospital, performing essential surgeries in ENT and Plastic Surgery. These procedures—ranging from correcting deviated septums and repairing cleft palates to inserting ear tubes and healing scar tissue—each surgery not only restored health but also renewed the spirit of individuals and families.

CHEERS FOR OUR VOLUNTEERS!

Over the past few weeks, we have kicked off the year with great volunteer partners. We have hosted Park Community, St. Francis Assisi, Bellarmine Nursing Students, and even a couple new faces.

We need you at SOS because we can't do our mission without volunteers! Bring your friends, book club, bible study, office mates, or just come by yourself.
