Not sure how to  use the machines in the Fitness Room?

Sign up for a free informative class!

If you're not sure how to use the fitness machines in the MCRC Fitness Room, try taking the free orientation class. Run by the fitness trainers from Prescription Fitness, participants review the proper way to use the machines. Sessions start out with how to set up an exercise program paying attention to the warm up, proper form, slow, controlled movements and more. Then the group moves to the machines with the instructor demonstrating the proper way to use the machine, what parts of the body are being used and how to set up the machine for the best results. This is a great class for those new to the Rec Center or new to using the machines. The class is offered twice a month on Tuesdays from 6 to 7 pm. Upcoming dates are: January 8 & 22, February 5 & 19 and March 5 & 19. There are sign up sheets at the Front Desk.

Hats, scarves & mittens for kids
MCRC's Gifts from the Heart Knitting & Crochet group is collecting mittens, hats and gloves this holiday season. They will be taking them to the Medina elementary schools to be distributed to children who show up at school without them in the bitter cold of the winter. Please bring new hats, scarves or mittens to the Rec Center and deposit them in the box in the lobby. Thank you for your generosity!

MCRC CALENDAR OF EVENTS

DECEMBER
21 - Environmental Discoveries in Malaysia Borneo - Beth Schnabel. In 2012 Beth Schnabel explored Borneo's rainforest while doing graduate studies with Project Dragonfly, Earth Expedition through Miami University (Oxford,OH). Her environmental conscience was challenged by what she discovered in Borneo: destruction of animal habitat, deforestation of the rainforest and cultural modification. Today, students in the Brunswick and Wadsworth School Districts learn more about environmental conservation while viewing Beth's picture power-point and hearing about her discoveries in Borneo, Malaysia. You will be fascinated! Lunch provided by Danbury Senior Living. Stay afterwards for some end of the year fun!
