Shannon Stiggins is the fitness instructor for MCRC's Zumba class. Sha

non has been physically active all of her life, even with wrestling in high school! She enjoys keeping healthy and trying to find a variety of ways to do that. Shannon grew up in the Copley area and spent time in Texas for high school then off to college, graduating from BYU with a bachelors in Political Science. She is married and they have 3 children ages 12, 7 and 6. She loves to camp and is happy to be back here close to the Metro Parks and Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
Shannon says she initially didn't like Zumba when she tried a Zumba video several years ago. After taking a class she fell in love with it. She loves the dance aspect and the good workout it offers. She says the best thing about Zumba is you get a great workout without even thinking about it! The music is energizing and the routines are fun. It just feels like a party for the 45 minutes you are in class. It's also very adaptable to all fitness levels. If you want a high intensity cardio workout - you can push yourself to your limits. If you need to scale back, all the moves are modifiable to meet your fitness level. Overall, it's just FUN!
