Pray for Monday's Inspection
Amanda and I will be meeting with the Health Department on Monday, June 19 @ 2:30 pm to begin our inspection. The city of Lake Worth and the Fire Department have already signed off on our application to be a preschool provider. We are thankful that God has brought us this far! The Health Department is a very thorough inspection and we don't fully know what to expect as they have been back and forth on various issues already.
Pray that it goes smoothly!
Does anyone have a refrigerator they could donate? Must make ice.
In the last couple of days we have had two new families express interest in enrolling their kids in preschool. That brings our total to about 5 committed students so far. A great start! Thanks for your prayers! We give thanks to God! We have a long way to go but we are on the way.
I suffer from S.A.D.D. That is, Spiritual Attention Deficit Disorder. I am a very visual and relational learner. I like images, clarity and lively conversation. But God is invisible and silent. When I enter my devotional time (what we often call "quiet" time) I find myself distracted by so many things! Why is it so difficult for me to put God first even for a few moments. If I can't give Him my undivided attention for an hour or even half an hour how can I expect to live my life fully devoted to Him?
We live in a culture that has mastered distractions. We have access to music, moving images, outrageous stories, notifications with cool sound effects and no end of mindless rabbit trails! How can we possibly train our minds to "be still and know" that God is God? God deliver me (us) from distractions!
At the top of God's list of TEN commandments is: Put me first! Let nothing and no one become more important in your life than Me! God's commands are not just given to us as individuals, they are given as commands for the community of God's people. We are responsible for our individual priorities as well as our collective priorities. Which makes things even more difficult! But when we find those moments of loving and undivided attention in God's direction--what bliss! When we find those moments in community with other followers of Christ--heavenly! So our journey begins again. We confess our tendency to replace God and in the power of His grace and Spirit we put Him in His proper place in our lives. Are you ready to begin again? See you Sunday! - Pastor Kris
