A Better Way to Holiday: The Winnebago County Health Department encourages people to take steps to protect their health and those around them this holiday season. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services is showing a significant increase of influenza (flu) throughout Wisconsin, mirroring trends around the country. Other respiratory viruses, including COVID-19 and RSV, also continue to spread. These viruses spread easily when people are gathered together. Eligible Wisconsinites can get their flu vaccine and updated COVID-19 booster at the same time. Simple steps to prevent the spread of illness include: frequent hand washing, covering coughs, sanitizing surfaces, and staying away from others if you are sick.
