  • COVID-19 Testing & Clinic Closings:
  • This upcoming Monday, September 5, COVID-19 testing at Sunnyview Expo Center will be closed. Regular hours and operations will resume on Tuesday, September 6. For information on local testing options, visit the Winnebago County Health Department website.
  • This Tuesday, September 6, the vaccine clinic in Fox Crossing will be closed (see flyer).
  • Next week Wednesday, September 14, the regular Walk-In Wednesday vaccine clinic at Sunnyview Expo Center will be closed. Please visit www.wcvaccine.org to find additional local clinics.
  • FDA Authorizes Updated COVID-19 Vaccine Boosters: On August 31, the FDA authorized reformulated COVID-19 boosters for Moderna and Pfizer that target the original strain of COVID-19 and today's most common Omicron strains. It is called a bivalent vaccine. The updated vaccines do not replace shots for the primary series, but they do replace the booster people older than 12 receive. The Winnebago County Health Department must wait for updated clinical guidance from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services before being able to offer this booster.

  • Individuals 12 years and older can only receive Pfizer and Moderna First & Second Doses: As a result of the FDA's authorization of the reformulated bivalent Pfizer and Moderna booster dose, the FDA rescinded the authorization for the monovalent Pfizer and Moderna booster doses for those 12 years and older. The Winnebago County Health Department will not be offering COVID-19 vaccine boosters (monovalent or updated bivalent boosters) to anyone 12 years and older until able to offer the updated bivalent booster.

  • NEW! Expanded Availability for Novavax COVID-19 Vaccine: Novavax COVID-19 vaccine is now available to those ages 12 years and older who have not yet received a COVID-19 vaccine. Click here for more information on Novavax. For information on all local COVID-19 vaccine clinics, visit www.wcvaccine.org.

  • COVID-19 Travel Recommendations: On August 24, the CDC updated travel recommendations for domestic and international travelers to align with the updated guidance for people sick with COVID-19 or who have been exposed to a person with COVID-19:
  • Do not travel if you are sick or have tested positive for COVID-19.
  • If you have ended isolationdo not travel if you are unable to wear a mask around others until 10 days after you began experiencing symptoms or the date of your positive test (if asymptomatic).
  • If you have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 in the last 10 days, do not travel if you are unable to wear a mask around others until 10 days after your last date of close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19.
  • For additional information, visit the CDC's website.
