We hope everyone is staying well during the current COVID-19 pandemic. Although we cannot be together, working together can make the difference.

Events You Won't Want to Miss
You're Invited to the 2020 Celebration of Literacy
Celebrate with us virtually
Join us online on April 29th for a virtual Celebration of Literacy. We will share the amazing stories of our literacy superhero award recipients from across Wisconsin, including this year's Outstanding Achievement in Health Li teracy recipient, Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin. They are being recognized for their work in trauma-informed care and recovery approach to shift the Tribe's culture of health. Congratulations, Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin!

The event will kick-off with a Virtual Dyslexia Simulation Experience presented by Children's Dyslexia Center - Madison. You will learn from our keynote speaker, Shawn Robinson, who shares his superhero story Doctor Dyslexia Dude, and from the inspiring stories of our statewide award recipients.

Health Insurance Literacy Forum Updates
Rescheduling due to COVID-19
After much thought, the Health Insurance Literacy Forum currently scheduled for August 6, 2020 in Madison, Wisconsin has been postponed in response to COVID-19. With much interest and the large request to host this forum, the planning committee is looking at new dates in 2021 to kick-off this one-day event. Stay tuned!

Wisconsin Health Literacy Summit moved to August 2021
Wisconsin Health Literacy is excited to host our next Health Literacy Summit in 2021. Due to COVID-19 the Summit has been scheduled for August 29-31, 2021 at the Monona Terrace in Madison, Wisconsin. More details coming soon!
2020 Programming
WHL Continues Partnership with Marshfield Clinic/Security Health Plan
New Community Program in the Works

Wisconsin Health Literacy (WHL) has been honored to partner with Marshfield Clinic/Security Health Plan over the years, creating and implementing a variety of health literacy programs throughout the state.

Our work continues in 2020. WHL will be facilitating 12 more Let's Talk About Pain Medicines workshops , educating on how to safely and effectively use prescription opioids. Workshops are able to be scheduled for facilitation in July - December of 2020.

Additionally, WHL will be working on developing new curriculum for a Let Talk About Diabetes series . These workshops will be for adults to learn about ways to help manage living with diabetes. More details will be provided as the curriculum is developed. Workshops will be scheduled for facilitation in September - December of 2020.
