Medicare Open Enrollment: Oct. 15-Dec. 7

Medicare’s Annual Open Enrollment Period is Oct. 15-Dec. 7. It’s your chance to review your plan, explore new options and make sure your benefits still fit your needs. You can switch between Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage, compare Advantage plans or update your Part D prescription drug coverage. The choices you make now will start on Jan. 1, setting the stage for the year ahead.

Missouri SHIP offers one-on-one assistance across Missouri. Trained Medicare counselors will work with you individually to review your current plan, check for changes and compare options to find coverage that fits your needs. They can also see if you qualify for programs that may save you money, like Medicare Savings Programs or Extra Help.

CMH Medicare Advantage HMO

Citizens Memorial is participating in the CMH Medicare Advantage HMO plan starting Jan. 1, 2026. If you have Medicare and currently live in Cedar, Dade, Dallas, Hickory or Polk County, you may be eligible to join this Medicare Advantage plan for 2026.

Dr. Coral Molina joins Dallas County clinic

Coral Molina, D.O., joined the CMH medical staff, specializing in family medicine and obstetric care at Dallas County Family Medical Center in Buffalo. Her clinical interests include family medicine, obstetrics, pediatrics, geriatrics and comprehensive care for men’s and women’s health. Dr. Molina is accepting new patients. Free KC Chiefs T-shirt for donating blood

The Bolivar Community Blood Drive is from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, in the fellowship hall at Southern Hills Baptist Church, 1220 S. Springfield Ave., Bolivar. All successful donors will receive a limited-edition Kansas City Chiefs Kingdom T-shirt, while supplies last. Donors can also enter for a chance to win a game day package. Auxiliary Book and Gift Fair is Oct. 14-15

The Citizens Memorial Hospital Auxiliary is hosting a Book & Gift Fair Oct. 14-15 on the second floor of the Kerry & Synda Douglas Medical Center, 1155 W. Parkview St. in Bolivar. Hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, and 7 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15. Proceeds will benefit the CMH Auxiliary to fund special projects at CMH. The auxiliary has 300 volunteers who donate more than 28,000 hours annually.
