CMH starts treating patients with new Alzheimer's drug

Nurse removing a patient's IV

The first patients in southwest Missouri to receive the recently approved Alzheimer's disease medication Kisunla were treated at CMH last week. The Missouri Memory Center and CMH Research Department participated in the Trailblazer-ALZ 2 study that led to FDA approval of Kisunla (donanemab) on July 2. Kisunla is indicated for use in patients with mild cognitive impairment or mild dementia stages of Alzheimer’s disease.

CMH was the first health system in Missouri to add Kisunla to its formulary. Watch the KY3 News story or read the CMH news release.
