Congratulations to the 2024 Springfield Business Journal Health Care Champions from CMH! Citizens Memorial Hospital/CMH Foundation was honored as the Top Health Care Organization (Large Category). Tregg Geren, CMH's Chief Operating Officer, accepted the award for CMH.


Three CMH employees were honored with awards:

Kendika Abrams, M.D.

Dr. Kendika Abrams joins CMH

Kendika Abrams, M.D., is a physician specializing in geriatric medicine at Bolivar Family Care Center. Initially, she is focused on caring for long-term care residents at Colonial Springs Healthcare Center and other CMH long-term care facilities. She will schedule appointments at BFCC soon by referral. Dr. Abrams received her medical degree from the Faculty Health Science, University of Guyana School of Medicine. She completed a residency in internal medicine at Canton Medical Education Foundation/NEOMED and a fellowship in geriatric medicine at Harvard Medical School Multicampus, Boston.

Sporting Clay Shoot is Sept. 20

Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation will host its second annual Sporting Clay Fundraiser on Friday, Sept. 20, at the Ozark Shooters Complex in Walnut Shade between Ozark and Branson. Presented by SGC Foodservice, the event is open to four-person teams and includes 100 clays with two rounds at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Each team member will receive 100 clays, an event gift, a grab-and-go breakfast, lunch, snacks, and complimentary drinks. A 50/50 raffle includes a firearm. Golf carts and guns are available to rent, and 12- or 20-gauge shells are available at Ozark Shooters. Read all the details.

From KY3: Patients in the Ozarks instrumental in getting new Alzheimer's drug approved

“The hope that we’re offering to patients at these early stages is to slow the progression of the memory symptoms and the so-called functional symptoms. That means being able to do your stuff. And the big goal is to let people have more time at home, more time with their families, more time interacting and being part of their lives," said Dr. Curtis Schreiber, board certified neurologist at the Missouri Memory Center and CMH Neurology Clinic.
