Multicultural Affairs hosts Black History Month speakers
Multicultural Affairs brought two speakers to the Heritage College for Black History month in February. 
Natasha Aduloju-Ajijola , Ph.D.,
Natasha Aduloju-Ajijola speaks in Irvine Hall Feb. 13 about HIV/AIDS Awareness in Urban and Rural Communities.
M.P.H., and Patricia Gunn, J.D., were both invited to speak on topics relating to the health disparities that persist among African Americans. 

Aduloju-Ajijola, from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine's Department of Biomedical and Health Informatics, spoke Feb. 13 the topic of HIV/AIDS Awareness in Urban and Rural Communities, addressing both the question of HIV in the black community, and the impact of stigma. 

On Tuesday, Feb. 21, noon - 1 p.m., Gunn, an  Ohio University associate professor emerita of law from the Department of African American Studies, will speak on Healthcare as a Human Right.

Clinical practice conference includes speaker from faculty
Heritage College assistant professor of OB/GYN  Jody Gerome Zuchowski , D.O. ('05), will be among the featured speakers at the 7th annual Greenbrier Conference April 28-30. 

The conference, co-sponsored by the Heritage College and the Scioto County Medical Society, takes place at the Greenbrier resort in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., and provides programs for physicians that address clinical practice.

In a seminar for health care professionals sponsored by the Heritage College Area Health Education Center, Caitlin E. Tully of the Center for Family Safety and Healing in Columbus will present on the topic, "It's Abuse: Teen Dating Abuse." Participants will learn to recognize the five types  of abusive behaviors, identify the warning signs of an abused teen, and apply safety and prevention planning. Heritage College students in central Ohio are invited to learn more about residencies available in the region. The February date will feature representatives from OhioHealth. The March event will bring in representatives from a number of other graduate medical education programs in the region, including Nationwide Children's Hospital, Adena Health System, Mount Carmel Health System, Fairfield Medical Center, and others. Also attending will be O'Bleness Hospital in Athens, which is part of the OhioHealth system.
