Today, Health Justice Alliance faculty, students, health care champions and staff provide no-cost legal services to cancer patients and pregnant and postpartum patients at MedStar Washington Hospital Center to address unmet legal needs that interfere with their health or well-being.

The Global Health Institute named its Spring 2024 Student Fellows including several students from the School of Health, School of Nursing, School of Medicine and Biomedical Graduate Education. As part of the Student Fellows Program, undergraduate and graduate students work with faculty on research projects, participate in global health-related events, and network with one another and scholars in the global health field.

In Memoriam

John Francis Griffith, EVP for 10 years

John Francis Griffith, MD, 90, died on March. Griffith served as executive vice president of Georgetown University Medical Center for a decade, 1986 to 1996. A funeral Mass will be held on March 16 at 10 a.m. at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, Bethesda. Fr. James Shea, S.J., the medical center's Catholic chaplain, will preside over the service.
