Komuraiah Myakala, PhD, a research instructor at Georgetown University Medical Center, uses animal models that mimic Type 2 diabetic disease progression, known as db/db mice, when testing his hypotheses for diabetic kidney disease, a condition that affects one in three adults with diabetes.

Maguire-Zeiss Receives President’s Award for Distinguished Scholar-Teacher

Kathleen Maguire-Zeiss, PhD, professor and chair of the Department of Neuroscience, has received a 2024 President's Award for Distinguished Scholar-Teachers. Maguire-Zeiss and the other awardees will be recognized at the Spring Faculty Convocation on March 20 at 5:00 p.m. in Gaston Hall.
