Dear Parents,

We are continuing to monitor the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), particularly the announcements of universities in our area suspending in-person learning. I will remain in contact with the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Health Department, which will be the agency that will let us know if there are confirmed cases in our area and if suspension of classes is required.

Our teachers have begun planning for the possibility of providing online instruction. If the health department asks us to suspend classes, we will notify you with a text message and a follow-up email with more details.

Our custodial staff continues to disinfect and clean common areas and classrooms frequently, and children are washing their hands with soap and water or using hand sanitizer between classes. We are working with Sodexo, our food services provider, to keep the dining hall as disinfected as possible by cleaning surfaces even more frequently and replacing tongs on the salad bars after each class.

In the meantime, please remember to keep your child at home if he or she has a fever or any other symptoms of illness. Children who have a fever may not return to school until they are fever-free for 24 hours without medication.

Thank you for your cooperation.
