Dear DACC Families,

Just as many of you are doing, we at DACC are closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation as information changes day-to-day. We continue to work closely with the Delaware General Health District, as well as our associate districts and local legislators.

On Thursday, March 12th, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced that all K-12 students in the state of Ohio will not be attending school for three weeks. According to the Governor, this will begin Tuesday, March 17th and continue through at least Friday, April 3rd, at which time, the situation will be assessed.

We are currently requesting clarification from the Ohio Department of Education as to whether remote learning will be an option for our students. We will send more information to you as soon as we receive that clarification.

Any school-sanctioned or on-campus event during this three-week period has been cancelled, including Prom. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment that you and your child are experiencing. I want to reiterate that the purpose of schools and businesses closing at this time and events being cancelled is to contain the spread of this virus. The only way to minimize the spread is to keep our families at home and maintain a social distance.

Understanding that the situation changes daily, I will keep you informed as new information is shared with us. If we move to remote learning for these three weeks, more detailed information will be sent to you regarding how we have prepared for this and what you will need to know.

I encourage you to make sure you have the most up-to-date information from the Delaware Area Career Center by visiting this resource page on our web site . Below are resources to access the latest information on COVID-19:

Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this unique time we are experiencing. At the end of the day, we are all working toward a common goal of keeping our community and loved ones healthy. Any decision I make will be with your best interest in mind.

Sincerely,

Mary Beth Freeman
