Like you, we are dealing with the enormity of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) and its effect on the world and our daily lives. Our thoughts are with everyone who has already been impacted.
This is an evolving situation, but one thing is unchanged: the safety and well-being of our visitors, employees and the South Florida community is our highest priority.
I am personally reaching out to share that we take great pride in our role as community leaders and are committed to doing everything possible to ensure your safety while at our shopping center. We have been working closely with our retail partners and last week enhanced our cleaning practices with an array of preventative measures recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Protection (CDC).
They include:
- Significantly increasing the cleaning and disinfecting of high-touch areas, including elevator buttons, stair and escalator handrails, bathrooms, counters, benches/seating areas, Treats Food Hall trays and tables, and more.
- Further enhancing our deep cleaning of high-traffic areas, including the Rainbow Valley play ground, Aventura Slide Tower, Treats Food Hall, Concierge Center and more.
- Adding several hand sanitizing stations throughout the mall for guests and employees, especially at entrances and exits.
- Working closely with our employees and contractors, such as valet, to stress the need for them to regularly wash and/or disinfect their hands following CDC guidelines. Hand sanitizing stations have been provided to each valet stand.
- Encouraging all employees to stay home if they have flu-like symptoms or a fever.
In addition, we implemented a mall-wide informational campaign on prevention, health and safety and will soon share details on our wellness programs. We have always focused on enriching the lives of those who live in our community and visit our shopping center. That will continue to be our mission.
Our team is closely monitoring information from the CDC, World Health Organization, The Florida Department of Health, and our local city and county officials. Our planning and decision making will be based on information from these reliable sources.
