Director's Comments from March 22nd Board Meeting

MDHHS Updates:

Michigan MichiCANS soft launch update with MDHHS. Had our “touchbase” meeting with MDHHS implementors of MichiCans on Monday, March 18. There are only two weeks left of the pilot testing. Staff will be ready to complete the various trainings as part of the implementation time from MDHHS. They have divided all training participants into three major cohorts for the entire state. There are about 5,000 identified to complete the training, and certification by Oct. 1, 2024. We are part of Cohort 3, and our training will be in the following months:

  • MichiCANS Certification Training - August and September
  • Action Planning Training - November and December
  • Supervisor Training - November and December
  • Leadership Training – August

New Medical Emergency Protocol

This currently applies only to the Mental Health Center.  We are working on addressing the concerns of the outlying buildings.

If there is a medical emergency, staff should call the front desk (4489) or 724-4489 from a cell phone to request help. All medical emergencies will be announced overhead instead of using the Toby Close button.

Do not hesitate to ask for assistance. We would much rather call for help and have to cancel the backup than someone going untreated.

New Process for Requesting Business Cards and Name Plates

Starting Friday, March 22, you no longer need to submit paper forms for business cards or nameplates. You can take care of those requests on The Compass.

  1. Go to The Compass
  2. In the search bar type "Business Cards"
  3. Click on the link "A239 Business Card and Name Plate Request"
  4. Fill out the form

After you submit the form, it will go to your supervisor for approval and then to Gina Post, who will place the order.

Save the Date

The FunD Committee will be grilling chicken and burgers for lunch on Wednesday, April 24, from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm! Donations will support the committee's work giving back to staff.
