The Davis Blue Devil Athletic Boosters is proud to announce a new partnership with Healthy Davis Together. This partnership is geared to engage the high school youth in our community’s mission to help fight the spread of COVID-19, keep our residents healthy as well as our specific mission of taking proactive and tangible steps towards returning to sports. In conjunction with Healthy Davis Together, we have created an incentive program for athletes and coaches called the Proud Super Testers. Starting today, each student athlete that meets the program’s criteria of completing four tests per month, Healthy Davis Together will make a $25 donation to the Davis Blue Devil Athletic Boosters (2 times or more in the month of Feb). This program is open to all ninth through twelfth grade student athletes of all sports (fall, winter and spring) that are returning athletes, or are intending to try out for any team. Each athlete can fill a new card each month generating multiple donations per athlete.
The Davis Blue Devil Athletic Boosters has made arrangements for all donations received from this program to go directly back to the Davis Senior High School Athletic Department to help all of our student athletes with their program’s respective expenses.
How does it work?
1. Sign Up for a Healthy Davis Together Account (if not already created) Each student must have a parent guardian sign each student up for an HDT account. https://healthydavistogether.org/testing/ Once a student has an account set up they do not need a parent/guardian with them at the testing location. Students will be asked for their name and birthday to find the account.
2. Get a Proud Super Tester Stamp Card from your coach.
3. Go to one of any of the Healthy Davis Together testing sites with your Stamp Card during one of the pre-arranged testing times. Healthy Davis Together has opened their doors to all DJUSD athletes to test WITHOUT an appointment anytime during the day with the last test taking place at 4:15pm Monday-Friday at the Veterans Memorial Test Site.
Many athletic teams that are on campus are scheduling testing days into their weekly schedule. Please contact your student’s coach directly for more information. Some off-site programs will encourage students to test at a time that is most appropriate for them.
Student can also test at any HDT site including the Mondavi location on Saturdays and Sundays without an appointment. Simply bring your Proud Super Tester Card (Reminder, students must have and HDT account set up prior to the 1st time they test.)
4. Get your card stamped when you check in and test by HDT staff.
5. Write in your test date on the card.
6. Test 4 or more times in a month. (2 or more times in the month of Feb.)
7. Turn in your card to your coach at the end of the month. If you are not seeing your coach regularly, you can turn your cards in at the DHS Athletic office.
8. At the beginning of each month, get a new card from your coach and keep testing!
DJUSD Athletics has already been encouraging all athletes and coaches to get tested 1 or more times per week so we hope this program makes this process easier for everyone and builds on the athletic department’s desires. We are excited for the opportunity to be part of our city’s efforts during this pandemic while also fulfilling our mission of supporting all Blue Devil student athletes.
